We all have good intentions when loading up our shopping carts, and don’t plan to end up tossing a percentage of the foods we buy in the garbage.
But unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and our food spoils before we have a chance to eat it. This can particularly be a problem with organic produce, although regular produce is sometimes even more susceptible to rapid spoiling.
Our refrigerators are a breeding ground for bacteria, which grows at a rate of one billion units per second. Those microorganisms cause our fruits and vegetables to get moldy, limp, and rotten, resulting in food waste if you don’t eat the food quick enough.
