Alkaline Recipe: Dairy-Free Sugar-Free Horchata

Dairy-Free Sugar-Free Horchata
Here’s an alkaline twist on a traditional Mexican drink. Instead of white rice, regular water, cow’s milk and white sugar, we have substituted alkaline ingredients for better nutrition in a version that’s just as delicious.
Yields 6 cups
Ingredients:

Directions: Pour the rice and water into a blender and blend until the rice just begins to break up, about 1 minute. Let rice and water sit at room temperature for three hours minimum. Strain the rice water into a pitcher and discard the rice. Stir remaining ingredients (with the exception of the ice) into the rice water. Chill and stir before serving over crushed ice.

  1. I have never thought of using ionized alkaline water before. Thanks for the recipe. I am working on cutting down on acid foods so this is one quick way of getting alkaline food. I will have to find out if I can get alkaline water locally.
